After Iváncsa, layoffs have now begun at the Komárom battery factory
SK On Hungary Kft. has begun layoffs at its Komárom facility following job cuts at its Iváncsa plant. The Liga trade union reported that several Hungarian and at least twenty Ukrainian workers were dismissed. The employer did not inform the union about future employment plans or measures taken to protect workers' health after facing significant fines for safety violations. The company stated that adjustments to current business conditions necessitated these difficult staffing decisions. SK On Hungary, part of South Korea's SK Innovation, employed 1,819 people in 2025, down from 2,700 the previous year, despite a revenue increase to 378 billion HUF.
