According to the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Viktor Orbán is still eligible for the position of UN Secretary-General

Former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is technically eligible for the UN Secretary-General position, as the nomination deadline has not passed, according to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandr Alimov. This statement follows reports that the U.S. government supports Orbán's candidacy, encouraging him to run. Alimov noted that there are no restrictions on other candidates. The Wall Street Journal indicated that Russia and China back the plan, which could secure eight votes in the 15-member Security Council. Current Secretary-General António Guterres's term ends on December 31, and several candidates are in the running, including Ivonne A-Baki and María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés. A new vote in the Security Council is scheduled for Wednesday.
