Holding accountable those responsible for the Novi Sad tragedy will be the primary task of the new Serbian leadership.
Ilija Srdanovic, leader of the winning Student List in Serbia's parliamentary elections, emphasized the need to investigate the collapse of the Novi Sad train station roof and hold those responsible accountable. He highlighted the importance of addressing alleged corruption related to the tragedy and ensuring justice for the victims and their families. Srdanovic also mentioned plans to reform the functioning of the judiciary and police, aiming to restore public trust in state institutions. Following the tragedy, which resulted in 16 deaths, protests erupted demanding accountability, linking the incident to corruption and irregularities in investments. The Student movement emerged from these protests and won the elections.
