The USA is selling 500 Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine
The U.S. Department of Defense confirmed the sale of 500 PAC-3 missiles to Ukraine for $2.1 billion, requested by Ukraine. The deal is seen as a business move, funded by Canada, Germany, and Norway through the JUMPSTART program, along with EU loans. The U.S. believes Ukraine can seamlessly integrate these systems due to their familiarity. This shipment aims to enhance Ukraine's air defense capabilities. Lockheed Martin will be the contractor for this deal. The PAC-3 missiles are crucial for intercepting Russian hypersonic ballistic missiles.
