Firefighters rescued a pigeon in distress in Győr
The Hungarian National Directorate General for Disaster Management reported a successful rescue of a trapped pigeon in Győr. Firefighters used a high-altitude rescue vehicle to free the bird, which was hanging upside down. After being taken to the fire station, a firefighter who is also a pigeon fancier assessed the bird's condition and provided it with water and rest before it flew away. The post highlighted the historical connection between firefighters and pigeons, noting their use for communication during World War II in England. Additionally, firefighters recently rescued a goat that had fallen into a well in Marcal.
