The death of actress Hayden Panettiere has been declared an accident

The Greenville police declared Hayden Panettiere's death an accident, confirming it was due to an overdose of fentanyl-containing pills. She died at the age of 36 on August 16, having taken oxycodone, a potent painkiller. Panettiere had openly discussed her struggles with opioid and alcohol addiction since she was 15, leading to her voluntarily giving up custody of her daughter in 2018. Before her death, she planned to visit her daughter, who lives with her father, former boxer Volodymyr Klitschko, in Ukraine.
