Firefighters' database was targeted by a cyberattack compromising personal data

The database of the National Census of Portuguese Firefighters was hacked, compromising personal data of approximately 60,000 individuals. The National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) reported that hackers accessed sensitive information, leading to the suspension of the database. The compromised data includes names, identification numbers, health information, and contact details. The National Cybersecurity Center and the National Internal Security Network acted quickly to suspend the application. The League of Portuguese Firefighters confirmed the breach and noted that affected individuals should have been informed directly. ANEPC warns that data holders may face phishing and other cyber threats.
