BE questions Moedas about contracts with Iberdrola

The Left Bloc in Lisbon has requested clarification from the mayor regarding a donation of approximately 150,000 euros from the Iberdrola Foundation and contracts worth around 50 million euros with Iberdrola. The inquiry follows a report indicating that Iberdrola secured six contracts from the Lisbon City Council since 2022, totaling about 49.9 million euros. This is a significant increase compared to a single contract worth 2.7 million euros awarded during the previous administration. The Bloc seeks details on the timing of the donation acceptance, legal opinions on the donation, and the criteria used for awarding contracts to Iberdrola. They also question the justification for a direct adjustment of 1.2 million euros for energy supply, citing unforeseen circumstances. The mayor is required to respond to public interest inquiries within 30 days.
