Endangered French zoo monkeys rescued after theft
Eleven monkeys stolen from a zoo in France have been recovered, while two remain missing. The theft involved breaking into the zoo in Lescar, where the thieves used tools to access the premises. Three suspects have been arrested, suspected of planning to sell the animals on the black market. The zoo reports that the recovered monkeys are traumatized but in good health, and they remain hopeful about finding the last two animals.
