BEI announces a package of 750 million euros for the recovery of affected areas in Portugal
The European Investment Bank (EIB) announced a €750 million package to support recovery in areas affected by storms in Portugal. President Nadia Calviño highlighted that the funds will assist municipalities in infrastructure rehabilitation and support small and medium enterprises. The storms earlier this year caused significant damage, prompting the government to declare a state of calamity. Additionally, Calviño announced a €300 million loan for housing construction and rehabilitation, and funding for the modernization of the Lisbon Metro. The EIB aims to contribute to Portugal's development over the next decades.
