Beja will have emergency accommodation for the homeless
Starting in November, Beja district will implement a structured emergency accommodation and support response for homeless individuals, a service previously unavailable. This initiative, promoted by the Estar association, follows the approval of the 'Viver' project under the Alentejo 2030 Regional Program, with an investment exceeding 610,000 euros. The project aims to address the high incidence of homelessness in Beja, which has limited emergency accommodation options. The initiative will last 36 months and is funded 85% by the European Social Fund Plus, allowing for the establishment of multidisciplinary teams to provide ongoing support and individual intervention plans. A temporary emergency residence will also be created to ensure dignified living conditions for beneficiaries.
