Tibor Benkő bought the house where he lived as chief of staff and minister for 165 million.
Tibor Benkő and his wife purchased a house for 165 million HUF, using a mortgage of nearly 40 million HUF. The 180 square meter house in Budaörs includes multiple rooms but lacks luxury features. An appraisal valued the property at 163 million HUF before sale. Benkő previously bought a state-provided apartment in Kiskunhalas, where he served for 16 years. He emphasized that he did not buy other state-provided accommodations. Benkő served as the Chief of the Hungarian Defense Forces from 2010 to 2018 and as Minister of Defense until 2022, and he was recently appointed president of the Budapest Honvéd Sports Club.
