Gasoline nearly 20 cents cheaper after record price, but oil remains expensive

On Wednesday, the price of a liter of gasoline dropped to 2.553 euros, down from a record 2.732 euros on October 10. Diesel prices also decreased slightly, with a current price of 2.714 euros per liter. Despite the drop in fuel prices, oil remains expensive at 116 dollars per barrel, influenced by ongoing geopolitical tensions. The fuel market typically lags behind oil price changes, leading to quicker price increases for gasoline and diesel than decreases. Currently, gasoline is over 15 cents cheaper than diesel, a reversal of the usual pricing trend due to differing production ratios from crude oil.
