Gasoline still down, diesel getting more expensive
Starting October 22, fuel prices will be capped at 6.63 PLN for Pb95 gasoline, 7.37 PLN for Pb98, and 8.02 PLN for diesel. This marks the fifth consecutive decrease in gasoline prices, while diesel prices have increased. The government has implemented these maximum prices as part of the renewed Fuel Price Lowering program, which aims to mitigate rising fuel costs. The president signed a law on October 1 that allows for tax reductions included in fuel prices. Stations must adhere to these price caps nationwide, with penalties for non-compliance. The government previously used this pricing mechanism in 2026 during geopolitical tensions.
