They would ban the consumption of energy drinks for minors in Croatia

Croatia plans to ban the purchase and consumption of energy drinks for individuals under 18. The Ministry of Health is drafting a law that will extend the ban to similar products. Since June, selling energy drinks to minors has been prohibited in stores, but regulations for hospitality venues are still pending. Health Minister Irena Hrstic emphasized the risks these drinks pose to young people's health due to high caffeine and sugar content. The law aims to close loopholes and standardize regulations, including stricter advertising rules targeting minors. The Croatian Public Health Institute will maintain a registry of energy drinks and similar products, requiring manufacturers to report their products. The law is expected to be presented to the government by the end of the year.
