Nearly a million dollars worth of Pokémon cards stolen from FedEx truck in California
In Southern California, thieves stole hundreds of valuable Pokémon cards from a parked FedEx van, valued at approximately $960,000. The heist involved two pallets of collectible cards, including soccer stickers. The theft occurred while the driver was away from the vehicle. The shipping company has deactivated the stolen cards' certificates and alerted resale platforms about the stolen items. Similar thefts have also been reported in the Netherlands, where card dealers have been targeted. The popularity of Pokémon cards surged after the release of Pokémon Go in 2016, further fueled by influencer investments.
