Special half-monkey thought to be extinct is found to still exist
The Bangka slow loris, a critically endangered primate native to Bangka Island, has been rediscovered after nearly a century. A wildlife rescue organization found over ninety individuals, indicating the species still survives despite habitat destruction from tin mining and palm oil plantations. Researcher Timon Glaw highlights the significance of these findings, suggesting hope for other species previously thought extinct.
