Blaze engulfs Hitler’s ‘Eagle’s Nest’ mountain retreat in Bavaria

German police have detained a suspect following a fire at the Eagle’s Nest, Hitler's former retreat in Bavaria. Approximately 200 firefighters battled the blaze, which engulfed the building located at a high altitude. Authorities were alerted by a smoke detector, and while no injuries were reported, the fire is suspected to be arson. The Eagle’s Nest, built in the late 1930s, remains a symbol of Hitler's regime and has been a site for exhibitions on its Nazi history since 1952.
