Bobigny: the president of Seine-Saint-Denis refers the Defender of Rights regarding the detention conditions of minors at the court's depot

Stéphane Troussel, president of the Seine-Saint-Denis departmental council, has contacted the Defender of Rights regarding the poor detention conditions of 17 minors at the Bobigny court. Lawyers reported that the minors were held in dirty, cold cells without mattresses, only with survival blankets, leading to concerns about their well-being. The prosecutor acknowledged the unacceptable conditions and emphasized that the alleged offenses do not justify such treatment. Troussel and vice-president Nadia Azoug called for an investigation into the minors' detention and for measures to prevent future occurrences. A petition demanding the resignation of the Bobigny prosecutor has also been initiated by staff from a local high school, criticizing the harsh treatment of minors under current justice policies.
