Boelo is the first official storm of this year in the Netherlands
In IJmuiden, storm Boelo brought strong winds reaching 115 km/h, with ongoing gusts expected on Sunday. The KNMI issued a yellow warning for coastal areas due to wind speeds up to 9. Previous storms included Benjamin last year and Austen recently, which caused significant rainfall but did not qualify as an official storm. Autumn storms are infrequent, occurring every five to six years on average, but the Netherlands has experienced storms for three consecutive years.
