Fine of 10,000 euros for man (60) from Tessenderlo-Ham selling airsoft guns without a permit
A 60-year-old man from Tessenderlo-Ham received a €10,000 fine, half of which is suspended, for selling airsoft guns without the necessary permit. The court found he offered these weapons in his store and online. Despite applying for a weapons dealer permit, it had not been approved. Investigators discovered he purchased 223 airsoft guns worth nearly €30,000 between October 2020 and April 2023. A raid on May 24, 2023, revealed 148 airsoft guns in his shop. The man claimed he used the guns for educational purposes, but the court disagreed, emphasizing his responsibility as a trainer for police and defense services. His request for suspension of the sentence was denied, and the seized weapons were forfeited.
