Maternity bonuses, parental leave, and a fund for childbirth: here are the three measures for families in the budget

The Italian government is introducing three key measures to support families in the upcoming budget law. These include an enhanced maternity bonus for mothers with at least two children and an income cap, a new fund providing 100 euros annually for newborns starting in 2027, and an extension of paid parental leave. The maternity bonus will now include self-employed and fixed-term workers. The newborn fund will accumulate contributions from the state and family members, with tax deductions for contributions. Parental leave will increase from three to four months, with additional months for subsequent children, and a voucher for self-employed parents to assist with childcare services.
