Booking.com may require staff to come to the office a certain number of days
Booking.com is taking legal action against its works council over a proposed home working policy requiring employees to spend at least 40% of their working hours in the office. The company argues that in-person presence fosters a better work culture, a point the court found compelling. Previous flexible home working rules resulted in many employees working from home, with only about a quarter meeting the office attendance requirement. The court emphasized the need for adequate workspaces for those who come to the office and noted potential exceptions for individuals facing difficulties due to the new rules. Booking.com welcomed the ruling, stating it strengthens their current policy to remain an attractive employer.
