Construction group Verelst from Putte bankrupt, but makes partial restart: not all jobs retained

The Mechelen commercial court has declared the bankruptcy of Verelst Group, a construction company from Putte. The company will partially restart through Willy Naessens Group and Vlinvesta, but not all jobs will be retained. Verelst faced significant challenges in the construction sector, including lower volumes and margin pressures. The industrial construction activities will continue under Willy Naessens Group, while residential construction will be taken over by Vlinvesta. Out of 129 employees in industrial construction, over half may find jobs in the restart, but exact job losses remain unclear. Curator Stefan De Boeck stated efforts were made to retain as much employment as possible, but not all positions can be saved.
