Fire Brigade Westhoek asks to put as many items inside as possible for the arrival of storm Austen

The Westhoek fire department urges residents to secure outdoor items ahead of Storm Austen to prevent them from being blown away. They recommend bringing in toys, flower pots, garden furniture, and trampolines. Residents should also ensure windows and doors are closed and check drainage systems for blockages. The fire department has requested maximum availability from its volunteers, totaling around 1,000, but will not implement additional permanent staffing at fire stations.
