A building that houses only one work of art. A monument to brutalism
The Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci will soon have a dedicated space in the Louvre, while Anselm Kiefer's work has already received a pavilion in Germany. Kiefer, a prominent contemporary artist, created "Schwarze Flocken" in 2007, referencing Holocaust experiences. This large painting is now showcased in a new pavilion designed by David Chipperfield Architects at the Carmen Würth Forum in Künzelsau. The pavilion's design was closely coordinated with Kiefer, focusing on natural lighting and minimal interior elements to enhance the viewing experience. Unlike traditional galleries, it lacks air conditioning, relying on a special construction to maintain stable conditions for the artwork.
