Neighbor premium for neighbors who insulate their homes together in Rumst: "Can amount to 2,500 euros"

Starting January 1, 2027, residents of Rumst, Terhagen, and Reet can receive a Neighbors' Premium for jointly insulating their homes. The more neighbors participate, the higher the premium, reaching up to €2,500 for five or more participants. This initiative replaces the previous isolation premium, which favored higher incomes. The new premium considers family income, covering up to 30% of insulation costs for higher incomes and 50% for lower incomes. The program aims to encourage collective action among neighbors to improve energy efficiency, especially in older homes. The premium is available until December 31, 2031, with annual funding of €20,000.
