Bus with churchgoers collides head-on with truck in Kenya, 24 dead

A frontal collision between a bus and a truck in southern Kenya resulted in at least 24 fatalities. The bus, carrying churchgoers returning from a funeral, attempted to overtake several vehicles when the accident occurred near Mtito Andei. The bus driver swerved to avoid the truck but could not prevent the crash. Additionally, 24 people were injured and taken to a local hospital. This incident follows another accident on the same highway three weeks prior, which claimed 17 lives. President Ruto has called for a nationwide vehicle safety inspection and a national day of mourning for traffic victims.
