Total ban or restrictions for e-scooters? A new survey leaves no doubt
In mid-October, Warsaw city council adopted a position to ban electric scooters in the city center and called for legislative changes. A survey by IBRiS revealed that Poles support safety measures like speed limits and designated no-scooter zones, but opinions are divided on a total ban. Younger respondents are less likely to support a complete ban compared to older individuals. The survey showed that 78.2% of participants favor lowering the speed limit for scooters, with strong support among seniors. Additionally, 76.5% support creating no-scooter zones. However, only 43.2% support a total ban in large cities, with significant age-related differences in opinions. The survey was conducted from October 22-26, 2026, with a sample of 1,000 people.
