Lisbon City Council approves suspension of shared scooters
The Lisbon City Council has approved the suspension of the current shared electric scooter system to enhance public space organization and safety. This decision aligns with similar actions taken by other European capitals. Mayor Carlos Moedas emphasized the need for coexistence of different mobility modes while ensuring safety for vulnerable groups. The approved proposal includes contributions from various political parties and mandates the creation of a Municipal Regulation for Soft Mobility within a year. The suspension will take effect within 60 days, leading to the complete removal of shared scooters.
