Canadian volunteer killed by Russian drone while rescuing animals in Donetsk Oblast
Jesse Adams, a Canadian volunteer dedicated to rescuing animals in Ukraine, was killed by a Russian drone strike on October 25 while evacuating animals in Kramatorsk. The drone attack occurred just after his team loaded rescued animals into their vehicle, severely injuring him. Despite emergency surgery, he could not be saved. Adams, founder of RainCoast Dog Rescue Society, was on his third visit to Ukraine, where he faced numerous dangers in his rescue efforts. His mission included rescuing not only pets but also large farm animals, highlighting the ongoing need for animal rescue in conflict zones. SPCA International honored him as a hero for his compassion and dedication to vulnerable animals.
