Chinese car banned from sales for losing the rear axle
The Malaysian Road Transport Department suspended sales of the Chery Omoda 5 after reports of rear axle failures. The Chinese manufacturer, controlled by the government, remained silent initially but later urged owners to inspect their vehicles. This issue is not new, as a similar defect affected 600 units in 2024, prompting a voluntary recall at that time. The current situation has raised concerns among owners, especially regarding models with different suspension systems.
