Casa da Moeda takes on the Fernando Namora Literary Prize

The Imprensa Nacional Casa da Moeda (INCM) will now promote and fund the Fernando Namora Literary Prize, worth 15,000 euros, for works published in 2025. The prize aims to recognize a novel or novella by a Portuguese author, written in Portuguese and published for the first time last year, excluding previous winners. Submissions can be made by publishers, authors, or their representatives until November 23, requiring seven copies of the competing works to be sent to INCM in Lisbon. The jury, led by Guilherme d’Oliveira Martins, includes representatives from various literary associations. The jury may also select up to five finalists before announcing the winner. The prize cannot be awarded posthumously or shared among multiple works.
