Cascais guarantees that support for Ukraine will continue

Cascais reaffirms its commitment to support Ukraine through cooperation with sister cities Bucha and Irpin. Mayor Nuno Piteira Lopes met with Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Vsevolod Chentsov to discuss ongoing humanitarian aid and reconstruction efforts. Lopes emphasized Cascais' proactive role in providing essential goods and hosting Ukrainian refugees since the war began in February 2022. The municipality has allocated one million euros for educational reconstruction in the sister cities and is fostering health cooperation. Additionally, youth exchange programs are being developed to strengthen ties between the communities. Chentsov invited Lopes to visit Ukraine, reinforcing the long-term commitment between Cascais and Ukraine.
