Goal demanded against Eindhoven resident who went 'hunting' for cats with a crossbow
A 26-year-old man from Eindhoven faces nine months in prison for shooting cats with a crossbow, resulting in one cat's death. The attacks caused significant distress in the neighborhood. Between November 2025 and May 2026, four cats were hit by arrows. Initially denying the acts, the suspect later confessed, citing anger after being scratched by a cat. He attempted to lure cats with food and expressed remorse during proceedings. Diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, he was deemed partially unaccountable at the time of the incidents. The prosecution has sought an unconditional sentence, noting his intention to return to China after serving time. The court's decision is expected in two weeks.
