Price ceilings will drop over the weekend. Diesel and gasoline will slightly decrease in price.
The Czech Ministry of Finance will lower fuel price caps over the weekend, with diesel dropping by 24 haléřů to 49.45 CZK per liter and gasoline by 39 haléřů to 43.87 CZK. This price regulation will remain in effect through Monday. The government has extended fuel price regulation until the end of November, as average gasoline prices fell while diesel prices increased. The maximum prices are calculated based on a three-day moving average of wholesale prices plus a capped margin for retailers. The government aims to alleviate fuel costs by reducing the excise tax on diesel. Fuel prices have been affected by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, particularly following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.
