Data centers will have "high demand" for water consumption

A new decree-law for data center licensing will be approved by year-end, focusing on digitalization, scientific research, and environmental requirements. The law will impose strict water usage regulations and prioritize renewable energy sources. Data centers must implement cooling technologies that minimize water consumption and undergo environmental impact assessments. Industrial projects will receive priority for electrical grid connections over data centers, with energy-intensive industries being first in line for approvals without auctions. Other candidates, including data centers, will need to participate in auctions for grid access.
