Melle center interrupted by large water leak: "Avoid the center"

The center of Melle is currently disrupted due to a major water leak caused by construction work by Elia. A water main was damaged, leading to flooding at the intersection of Brusselsesteenweg and Gemeenteplein. Repair work is ongoing, but the road remains closed. Authorities advise avoiding the area and rerouting traffic between Ghent and Wetteren. Similar past incidents suggest repairs may take several days.
