Czechs bought a ruin in Croatia. They turned a stone house on Cres into a second home

Czech owners of a house on the Croatian island of Cres opted for a historic renovation instead of a new apartment, preserving original stone walls. The project involved five small floors and strict heritage regulations, with local craftsmen assisting in the restoration. The design emphasized the irregular layout of the building, incorporating unique features like a triangular bathroom and a staircase adapted to the old structure. The house, named Kamik, aims for year-round living, equipped with modern heating and cooling systems while maintaining its historical character.
