Czech invention changes curling. It has already eliminated several players at the Olympics, now it is helping in Ostrava
The European Curling Championship is taking place in Ostrava, marking the first time the Czech Republic hosts this event. A Czech innovation, electronic curling handles developed by Inosens CZ, enhances the accuracy of judging by detecting if a player releases the stone before the hog-line. This technology was previously tested at the Winter Olympics in Cortina, where it led to the disqualification of several stones. The system aims to improve fairness in the game, eliminating disputes over late releases. The project was funded by the EU, allowing for rapid development and implementation of the sensors.
