German Chancellor demands European voice in negotiations between Kiev and Moscow

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz emphasized the need for a European voice in negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, expressing doubts about Moscow's seriousness. He met with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, who supported the call for European involvement. Upcoming talks are scheduled for November 10-11 in Abu Dhabi, marking the first discussions since February. Zelensky highlighted the importance of security guarantees for Ukraine and insisted that European support is crucial for Ukraine's EU membership. He outlined key negotiation priorities, including energy ceasefires and prisoner exchanges, while rejecting direct talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
