"I wish I could feel safe in my own country". Women took to the streets again

Demonstrations titled "Red Card for Abortion" took place in numerous Polish cities, protesting against restrictive abortion laws established by a Constitutional Tribunal ruling six years ago. Organized by various groups, participants expressed their desire for safety and equal access to legal abortion, similar to that in other EU countries. The protests were sparked by a 2020 ruling that deemed certain abortion provisions unconstitutional, leading to widespread public outcry. Recent legislative developments include the Sejm passing bills aimed at partially decriminalizing abortion and reinstating previously available grounds for abortion due to fetal impairment, which will now be reviewed by the Senate and the President.
