They wanted to demolish the community center, residents of the Maltański Estate said "no"

On Wednesday, police intervened at the Maltańskie housing estate in Poznań, where a construction team began removing windows from a community building. Residents and members of the 'Maltańskie Nasz Dom' association protested, claiming the demolition was illegal. Tensions escalated, leading to police involvement, although no violence was observed. Legal disputes regarding the building are ongoing, with one case concerning its possession and another regarding eviction initiated by the parish. The managing company, Komandoria, stated that the demolition would not displace residents and emphasized ongoing discussions about housing assistance. The area, previously used for gardening, has been sold for development, despite some residents refusing to leave their homes.
