Chega Madeira requests a 30% differential on VAT
Hugo Nunes, leader of Chega Madeira, stated that if the 2027 Regional Budget does not include a 30% VAT differential, the party will oppose it. He emphasized that this measure is essential to alleviate living costs for residents. Nunes argued that applying this differential would lower consumer prices and is a right under regional autonomy. Additionally, he proposed designating Porto Santo as a contingency airport for diverted flights and advocated for full-time dentists in health centers to improve oral health access. Chega also presented various proposals to the regional finance secretary, including a ferry connection to the mainland.
