Chinese goods flood Poland. Nearly 400 product groups threaten domestic factories
The European Union is increasingly dependent on Asian imports, particularly from China, leading to significant trade deficits. The European Commission's new import barometer identifies products vulnerable to Chinese competition, revealing that 32% of goods imported from China threaten local producers. Despite a slight decrease in the number of at-risk product categories, the pressure from imports remains high, with a notable increase in import value. The barometer aims to highlight sectors most exposed to Asian competition rather than block foreign suppliers. Recent regulations have also targeted small-value imports to curb this trend, as China now accounts for 16% of Poland's imports, impacting local industries significantly.
