Chris Brown avoids direct prison sentence after nightclub brawl

American singer Chris Brown has received an eight-month suspended prison sentence in the UK for attacking a music producer with a tequila bottle in 2023. The Southwark Crown Court in London issued the sentence after Brown pleaded guilty. He and his vocal coach, Omololu Akinlolu, admitted guilt in July, dropping earlier, more serious charges, including attempted grievous bodily harm. The incident occurred in February 2023 during a dispute at the Tape nightclub in London, where producer Abraham Diaw was struck multiple times with the bottle. Brown was arrested last year and released on bail shortly after.
