Cyberattack hits supermarket cold storage facilities in Europe

Supermarkets in Belgium, Luxembourg, and Sweden experienced a cyberattack affecting refrigeration systems, leading to increased temperatures in cooling equipment. The incident impacted 40 Delhaize stores and 15 Carrefour locations in Belgium, as well as ICA and Coop stores in Sweden. A spokesperson confirmed that a limited number of stores were affected. This follows a similar attack in France last month, where temperatures in refrigeration units rose to 50°C, causing food loss and fires. No information on the perpetrators of the attacks in France has been released.
