Five parties unite for Western Sahara at the UN

Members of the Portuguese Parliament from PS, Livre, PCP, BE, and PAN have expressed concern over a US resolution regarding Western Sahara. They emphasize the importance of the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and criticize the proposal for deviating from international law principles. The resolution suggests that autonomy under Moroccan sovereignty is the only solution, which they argue preconditions negotiations. They also highlight the elimination of the referendum reference in MINURSO's mandate and the reduction of its personnel. The parliamentarians call for the preservation of the Sahrawi people's rights and urge the UN Security Council to ensure a genuine negotiation process.
