The Chinese Omoda has a huge problem, it lost its axle while driving. We know if it will affect the Czechs.
Chinese automaker Chery faces quality issues with its Omoda 5 model, including a recent incident where the rear axle detached while driving in Malaysia. This follows a previous problem with the steering column that did not lead to a recall. The Malaysian authorities have suspended the vehicle's homologation, affecting future registrations until the issue is resolved. However, the European market may not be impacted as the Omoda 5 sold there features a different rear axle design. Chery has initiated a recall for 8,878 vehicles to inspect and repair potential weld weaknesses. Despite these challenges, Chery's vehicles are gaining popularity in Malaysia and Europe, with Omoda 5 being one of the best-selling models.
