Cleanup efforts begin in flood-hit eastern Spain after deadly torrential rain
Eastern Spain experienced severe flooding due to torrential rain, resulting in at least four fatalities. Emergency services conducted over 400 rescues in the Valencia region, where some areas received up to 700 liters of rain per square meter in just 24 hours. The flooding caused significant disruption, with streets submerged and residents stranded. Two deaths occurred in Oliva, while a third was reported in the same region, and a fourth in Catalonia after an individual fell into a swollen stream. Experts attribute the increasing intensity of such storms to climate change.
